Thank you for choosing Robo Reader, a product of Lambda DOO ("we," "us," or "our"). This Refund Policy outlines the terms under which refunds may be issued for purchases made through our Services, including our website at https://robo-reader.com and our mobile application.

All payments for our Services are processed by Paddle.com ("Paddle"), which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means that when you purchase a subscription or make a one-time purchase, you are purchasing from Paddle, who is the authorised reseller of our products. As such, all refund requests are subject to Paddle's policies and are processed through Paddle.

Please read this Refund Policy carefully before making a purchase. By completing a transaction, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms set forth in this policy, our Terms and Conditions, and Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms.

1. PADDLE AS MERCHANT OF RECORD

Paddle.com acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions related to Robo Reader. This means Paddle is the entity that processes your payment, handles billing, manages sales tax and VAT compliance, and facilitates refunds on our behalf. When you see a charge on your payment statement, it will appear as a charge from Paddle.

As the Merchant of Record, Paddle is responsible for first-tier after-sales support, including handling refund requests, invoicing, payment reconciliation, and initial order-related support. We work closely with Paddle to ensure that your refund requests are handled fairly and promptly.

2. FREE TRIAL

We offer a 7-day free trial for new users who register with our Services. During the free trial period, you have full access to all premium features at no charge.

If you cancel your subscription before the free trial period ends, you will not be charged. We strongly encourage you to evaluate the Services thoroughly during the trial period before committing to a paid subscription. The free trial is designed to give you ample opportunity to determine whether Robo Reader meets your needs.

If you do not cancel before the trial period expires, your chosen subscription plan will automatically commence and your payment method will be charged accordingly.

3. SUBSCRIPTION REFUNDS

Since we offer a generous free trial period, refunds on subscription payments are generally not provided. In accordance with Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms, there are no refunds on unused subscription periods.

However, we understand that exceptional circumstances may arise. Refund requests for subscription payments will be considered on a case-by-case basis at Paddle's sole discretion. Refund requests may be granted under the following conditions:
  • Significant technical issues: If you experience a critical technical problem that prevents you from using the Services and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged more than once for the same subscription period.
  • Unauthorised charges: If a charge was made to your payment method without your authorisation.
  • Product not as described: If the Services are materially different from what was described at the time of purchase and do not function as advertised.
Paddle reserves the right to refuse a refund request if there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behaviour.

4. LIFETIME PURCHASES

Lifetime (one-time) purchases provide permanent access to premium features of Robo Reader. Refund eligibility for lifetime purchases is as follows:
  • Within 14 days of purchase: You may request a refund within fourteen (14) days from the date of purchase. This is in line with Paddle's policies and applicable consumer protection laws. However, if you have already accessed and used the digital content, the right to a refund may be limited (see Section 5 below).
  • After 14 days: Lifetime purchases are non-refundable after 14 days from the date of purchase, except in cases of significant technical issues that we are unable to resolve or where required by applicable law.

5. CONSUMER RIGHT TO CANCEL (EU/UK/EEA)

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, you have the right to cancel a purchase within 14 days from the date of the transaction without giving any reason, as provided by applicable consumer protection laws.

Exception for Digital Content

In accordance with Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms and EU/UK consumer protection law, your right to cancel does not apply to the supply of digital content that you have started to download, stream, or otherwise access, and to products which you have already had the benefit of. By completing a purchase of Robo Reader premium features and accessing the digital content, you acknowledge that:
  • You consent to the immediate performance of the agreement and the delivery of digital content.
  • You acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been accessed or the applicable transmission has begun.
For subscription services, the consumer right to cancel applies only following the initial subscription and not upon each automatic renewal.

How to Exercise Your Right to Cancel

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform Paddle of your decision before the expiration of the 14-day period. You can do so by contacting Paddle directly at paddle.net or by contacting us using the details in Section 13 below.

Effect of Cancellation

If you cancel your purchase within the permitted period and the exception for digital content does not apply, Paddle will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after being informed of your decision to cancel. The reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment as the original transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

6. REFUND ELIGIBILITY

Refunds are provided at the sole discretion of Paddle and on a case-by-case basis and may be refused. The following general criteria apply:

Eligible for Refund

  • Transactions made in error or resulting from a technical malfunction
  • Duplicate or unauthorised charges
  • Services that are materially not as described, faulty, or not fit for purpose
  • Situations required by applicable consumer protection law

Not Eligible for Refund

  • Change of mind after accessing digital content
  • Unused portions of a subscription period
  • Failure to cancel before the end of a free trial period
  • Requests involving evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or manipulative behaviour
  • Lifetime purchases after 14 days from the date of purchase (unless required by law)
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer in relation to products which are not as described, faulty, or not fit for purpose.

7. HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND

To request a refund, you may use one of the following methods:

Option 1: Contact Paddle Directly

Since Paddle is the Merchant of Record, you can submit a refund request directly through Paddle's buyer support portal at paddle.net. This is the fastest way to initiate a refund, as Paddle handles payment processing directly.

Option 2: Contact Us

You can also contact us at support@robo-reader.com, and we will coordinate with Paddle to process your refund request. Please include the following information:
  • Your account email address
  • The date of the charge
  • The order or transaction reference number (found in your receipt email from Paddle)
  • The reason for the refund request
  • Any relevant screenshots or documentation supporting your request

8. REFUND PROCESSING

If your refund is approved, it will be processed by Paddle and returned to the original payment method used for the purchase. Please note:
  • Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days from the date of approval, depending on your payment provider and financial institution.
  • You will not incur any fees as a result of a refund.
  • Upon receipt of a refund, your access to premium features will be revoked and your account will revert to the free tier.
If technical problems prevent or unreasonably delay the delivery of the product, your exclusive and sole remedy is either replacement of the product or a refund of the price paid, as determined by Paddle.

9. CANCELLATION VS. REFUND

Cancelling your subscription is different from requesting a refund. Please note the following distinctions:

Cancellation

  • You retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period.
  • No further charges will be made after the current period ends.
  • No partial refund is issued for the remaining time in the current billing period.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your account and navigating to the pricing section.

Refund

  • A refund returns the payment amount to your original payment method.
  • Access to premium features is revoked upon processing of the refund.
  • Refunds are subject to the eligibility criteria described in this policy.
To cancel your Paddle subscription, you may also contact Paddle directly at paddle.net at least 48 hours before the end of the current billing period.

10. CHARGEBACKS

We understand that there may be occasions where you may not recognise or wish to dispute a payment made to Paddle in relation to a transaction. A chargeback is a mechanism whereby your payment card issuer (at their discretion) can reclaim money from a retailer's bank.

You agree to contact Paddle or us prior to raising a chargeback request or any dispute with your bank or card issuer. In many cases, we can resolve payment issues more quickly and efficiently through our support channels than through the chargeback process.

If you make a card payment through Paddle and later dispute a legitimate charge by raising a chargeback without merit or legitimate reason (whether fraudulently or otherwise), Paddle reserves the right to prohibit you from using its services and to provide compelling evidence to refute the invalid chargeback request.

Chargebacks may be appropriate in the following circumstances:
  • You did not receive the product you paid for
  • You were charged the wrong amount or charged twice by mistake
  • The payment was made fraudulently (without your authorisation)

11. SALES TAX REFUNDS

If you have been charged sales tax (including VAT, GST, or other applicable taxes) on your purchase and you are registered for sales tax in the country of purchase, you may be entitled to a refund of the sales tax amount if permitted by the laws applicable in your country.

To be eligible for a sales tax refund:
  • You must contact Paddle within 60 days after completing the purchase.
  • You must provide a valid sales tax registration code for your country.
All sales tax refund requests received after 60 days from the date of the transaction will not be processed. For more information, contact Paddle at paddle.net.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to this Refund Policy, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed of how refunds are handled. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
