Privacy Policy

1. Controller and scope

Lambda DOO operates Robo Reader and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Lambda DOO is registered at 130 Dr Vukašina Markovića, Podgorica 81000, Montenegro (PIB: 03809471), and represented by Sanja Andjelic, CEO. This policy applies to the Robo Reader Android app, www.robo-reader.com, user accounts, support, and related services.

2. Data we process

  • Account data: Firebase user ID, name, email, profile image, sign-in provider, and account settings.
  • Reading data: library metadata, progress, highlights, bookmarks, goals, statistics, and feature preferences.
  • Document and article data: files you select, extracted text, article URLs, cleaned article content, covers, summaries, and related metadata when needed for a feature you request.
  • AI inputs and outputs: selected text, prompts, conversation context, summaries, and model responses when you use an AI feature.
  • Usage and diagnostics: feature activity, limits, device/app identifiers, crash reports, performance diagnostics, security signals, and Remote Config state.
  • Advertising data: advertising identifiers, consent choices, approximate location or device signals used by Google AdMob as permitted by your settings and applicable law.
  • Purchase data: Paddle customer, transaction, subscription, trial, cancellation, refund, and entitlement references. Lambda DOO does not receive your full card number or card security code.
  • Support data: messages, contact details, and information you choose to provide when requesting help.

3. Local reading and optional cloud sync

You can use core local PDF-reading features without enabling full-content cloud synchronization. Cloud sync is disabled until you opt in. When enabled, Robo Reader may store compressed book text, covers, article content, progress, bookmarks, and highlights in Firebase under your account so they can be restored on your devices.

Disabling sync stops future synchronization but does not silently destroy existing cloud copies. The app provides a separate action to delete cloud copies. Account deletion also removes Robo Reader cloud content, subject to the exceptions described below.

4. AI and article processing

AI processing is separate from cloud sync. When you request an AI feature, the text and instructions needed for that request are sent through Firebase AI Logic to Google Vertex AI. Article import may also load the URL in an on-device web view, extract permitted page content, and send relevant content for cleaning or summary.

Robo Reader asks for an AI-processing acknowledgement before first use and a rights/no-circumvention acknowledgement before article import. Do not submit personal, confidential, or protected material unless you are authorized to do so. Google's processing is governed by the applicable Google Cloud/Firebase terms and privacy documentation.

5. Why we use data

We process data as necessary to:

  • create and secure accounts;
  • provide reading, text-to-speech, sync, statistics, support, and requested AI features;
  • restore purchases and enforce server-issued Premium entitlements;
  • show and measure advertising in the free service where permitted;
  • prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect users and the service;
  • communicate about account, security, support, or material service changes; and
  • meet accounting, tax, consumer-protection, and other legal obligations.

Depending on the context and your location, this processing is based on performance of our agreement, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, consent where required, or compliance with law.

6. Service providers and recipients

  • Google: Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Storage, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Firebase AI Logic/Vertex AI, Google Sign-In, and AdMob.
  • Vercel: website hosting, server functions, security logs, and website analytics.
  • Paddle: Merchant of Record for website subscriptions when checkout is enabled.
  • EmailJS and Google reCAPTCHA: website contact delivery and abuse prevention where used.

We may also disclose limited information to professional advisers, authorities, or another party when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or involved in a properly managed business transaction. We do not sell personal data for money.

7. International processing

Our providers may process data outside Montenegro or your country. Where required, we and our providers use contractual, organizational, and legal safeguards intended to protect data transferred internationally. Provider locations and safeguards may change as their infrastructure changes.

8. Retention

Account and synced content are generally retained while your account remains active or until you delete the relevant content. Support, security, diagnostic, and transaction-related records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.

When deletion is processed, Robo Reader removes active account data and cloud copies through the documented deletion process. Deleted Firebase Storage files may remain in provider soft-delete or backup systems for up to seven days before irreversible removal. Limited transaction, security, dispute, and legal records may remain where required by law or legitimate compliance obligations. De-identified aggregate information may be kept where it can no longer reasonably identify you.

9. Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit, Firebase security controls, App Check, and restricted server credentials to protect data. No system is completely secure. Keep your device and sign-in method protected, and report suspected unauthorized access to support.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your data.

  • Update account and feature preferences in the app.
  • Enable, disable, or delete optional cloud synchronization data.
  • Manage advertising and consent choices through the app/device interfaces made available to you.
  • Delete your account in the app or follow our Account Deletion instructions.
  • Email support for another privacy request or to withdraw consent where consent is the basis.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also complain to a competent data protection authority.

11. Age eligibility

Robo Reader is intended only for users aged 18 and older. If you believe a person under 18 created an account or provided data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

12. Changes and contact

We update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements materially change. The date above identifies the current version, and material changes may require a new in-app acknowledgement.
